OUR COMMITMENT
MGI PHARMA is committed to improving the lives of patients and enhancing patient care by supporting independent medical education programs for physicians, pharmacists, nurses and other health care professionals. MGI supports both accredited and non-accredited educational programs which address the unmet needs of health care professionals and align with our areas of educational interests.
MGI PHARMA reviews each educational grant application in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines (e.g. OIG, ACCME, PhRMA)
TYPES OF PROGRAMS WE SUPPORT
MGI supports accredited and non-accredited programs from health care organizations, associations, academic institutions, hospitals and medical education companies.

Educational Initiative Funding Requirements:
- Educational Grants must support bona fide educational activities.
- Educational provider must be solely responsible for control over the content of the educational activity including faculty selection.
- Educational provider must commit to provide a fair and balanced presentation of educational information.
- MGI's support of the educational initiative must be disclosed during the program or in the program materials pursuant to applicable industry guidelines and regulations.
- Educational provider must identify, resolve and disclose any conflicts of interest to CME/CE attendees, including financial relationships.
- The grant funds may be used to subsidize conference expenses, including, but not limited to, meeting space, modest social receptions which facilitate discussion among attendees, speaker fees, etc.
Grant Funds Cannot Be Used for the Following:
- Promotional activities (including promotion of off-label use of a product)
- Support of charitable programs
- Normal organizational overhead/operational expenses (e.g. purchase of computers or equipment, staff training, etc.)
- Travel, conference expenses or honoraria for customer "poster presentation"
- Programs that have already taken place
- Payment to individuals (only organizations qualify)
- Reimbursement to individual physicians or other individual health care professional attendees for the cost of obtaining CME credits
